I am Laura Sugerman, the proprietor of Sugerman’s Bagels. As a Northeastern native, I am excited to share my bagel enthusiasm with the wonderful city of New Orleans.

I started Sugerman’s Bagels in 2010, eager to offer fresh New York-style bagels made locally, right here in New Orleans. Sugerman’s Bagels is a small-scale operation, run out of a community commercial kitchen in the Bywater. ¬†All bagels are hand-rolled and, boiled and baked, as is traditional.

Bagels can be ordered or found around town in various restaurants and cafes. I use high-quality and fresh ingredients, taking into consideration social and environmental implications. My products feature unbleached and unbromated white flours, organic whole-wheat or rye  flours, as well as local seasonal fruits and raw cane sugar.
